A. Theme and Subthemes

This competition adopts the theme: “Mental Health Across Cultures: Integrating Science and Spirituality.” The competition emphasizes the delivery of Da’wa (religious outreach) messages that integrate psychological science, Islamic values, and spirituality in promoting mental health within culturally diverse global contexts.

To provide conceptual guidance while allowing creative flexibility, participants may select or develop their work based on one of the following subthemes:

  1. Cultural Perspectives on Mental Health 

Exploration of how cultural beliefs, traditions, and social norms influence mental health understanding and practices across different societies. 

  1. Integrating Psychological Science and Islamic Teachings

The application of psychological theories and evidence-based practices in conjunction with Qur’anic principles, Hadith, and Islamic scholarship in promoting mental well-being. 

  1. Spirituality and Resilience

The role of faith, spirituality, and religious practices (e.g., prayer, remembrance, trust in God) in fostering resilience and coping with psychological distress. 

  1. Mental Health Challenges in the Digital Era

Addressing issues such as social media anxiety, cyberbullying, and digital addiction through integrative Da’wa approaches. 

  1. Stigma Reduction and Mental Health Awareness

Promoting understanding, empathy, and destigmatization of mental health issues within diverse cultural and religious communities. 

  1. Youth Mental Health and Identity Formation

Exploring psychological and spiritual challenges faced by young people in navigating identity, purpose, and meaning in a globalized world. 

  1. Community-Based and Faith-Based Interventions

Highlighting the role of families, communities, and religious institutions in supporting mental health and well-being. 

  1. Ethical and Compassionate Da’wa in Mental Health

Emphasizing responsible, empathetic, and non-judgmental approaches in delivering Da’wa messages related to psychological struggles.

B. Objectives

This competition is organized with the following objectives:

  1. To enhance global awareness of mental health issues through educational and contextually relevant Da’wa approaches. 
  2. To encourage students to produce creative Da’wa-based digital content grounded in psychological science and religious values. 
  3. To promote integrative perspectives that combine science, religion, and spirituality in addressing mental health challenges. 
  4. To provide a platform for students to develop innovative media for global mental health advocacy.

C. Eligibility

The competition is open to active students (Undergraduate level) from accredited higher education institutions in Indonesia and worldwide. 

D. Participant Requirements

  1. Participants must be currently enrolled students, as evidenced by a valid student ID or official enrollment letter. 
  2. Participation may be individual.

E. Submission Guidelines

  1. The submission must be a mental health Da’wa video that conveys religious and spiritual messages constructively and inclusively. 
  2. Video duration must be 5 to 10 minutes long. 
  3. Accepted formats: MP4 or MOV, with a minimum resolution of 720p (1080p recommended). 
  4. Language requirements: 
  1. English is preferred; or 
  2. Other languages are permitted provided that English subtitles are included. 
  3. The content must: 
  1. Incorporate Da’wa messages reflecting Islamic teachings and/or universal spiritual values 
  2. Be grounded in relevant psychological or mental health concepts 
  3. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and inclusivity 
  1. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not previously submitted to other competitions. 
  2. Submissions must not contain plagiarism, hate speech, discrimination, explicit content, or inappropriate violence. 
  3. The format may include lectures, storytelling, short films, documentaries, animations, or other creative approaches. 

F. Administrative Requirements

Participants are required to complete the online registration form and submit the following documents: 

  1. Video link (YouTube unlisted ), 
  2. Proof of student status, 
  3. Statement of originality. 

G. Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated by an international panel of judges based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to Theme and Da’wa Message (25%). Alignment with the theme and clarity of the Da’wa message in a global context. 
  2. Integration of Science and Spirituality (20%). The extent to which psychological knowledge is effectively integrated with religious and spiritual perspectives. 
  3. Depth and Accuracy of Content (20%). Conceptual clarity, scientific validity, and appropriateness of religious references. 
  4. Creativity and Originality (15%). Innovation, uniqueness of ideas, and engagement of presentation. 
  5. Technical Quality (10%). Video production quality, including visuals, audio, editing, and narrative flow. 
  6. Impact and Inspirational Value (10%). The potential of the video to inspire, educate, and positively influence a global audience.
