B. THEMES

  • “Between Wounds and Hope: When the Heart Learns to Make Peace”
  • “Finding the Way Back to Yourself”
  • “Seeking Meaning Amidst Wounds: A Soul’s Journey Toward Healing”

C. SCOPE OF THE COMPETITION

  • Short Story Inspired by General Psychology theories/concepts.
  • Short Story Inspired by Islamic Psychology theories/concepts.

D. GENERAL PROVISIONS

  • Participants must be active undergraduate psychology students from PTMA (Muhammadiyah–‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions) or non-PTMA universities.
  • Each university may send participants on an individual basis.
  • Participants may choose their story title in accordance with the scope and theme of the competition that have been determined.
  • The submitted work must be a short story inspired by psychological theory(es)/concept(s), in accordance with the competition scope and theme.
  • The competition consists of two stages:
    • Submission of the short story manuscript
    • Offline storytelling presentation on the day of the competition
  • Each participant may submit a maximum of one work.

E. SPECIFIC PROVISIONS

  • The submitted work must be an original piece created by the participant, which has not been previously published in any media and has not been submitted to or won in any prior competition.
  • The short story must be written in one of the following three languages.
    • English
    • Malay (Bahasa Melayu)
    • Bahasa Indonesia
  • The short story must be prepared with the following format:
    • Paper size: A4
    • Font type: Times New Roman or Calibri
    • Font size: 12 pt
    • Length: Maximum of 10 pages
  • The short story must be submitted in .pdf format.
  • The storytelling presentation duration must be between 15 minutes.
  • Both the short story and the storytelling performance should demonstrate elements that are engaging, communicative, inspiring, and theoretically based.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to publish the submitted works, while ensuring that the participant’s identity is properly acknowledged.

F. COMPETITION MECHANISM

  • The short story manuscript must be uploaded through the following form:

  • The file must follow this naming format:
    • Presenter_University Name_Participant Name
  • Participants are required to perform a storytelling presentation of their submitted work in front of the panel of judges offline on the day of the competition.

G. RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • The submitted work must be original and must not have been previously published.
  • The work must comply with all specified competition requirements.
  • Participants must submit their work before the specified deadline.
  • If any violations are discovered at any time, the organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify the participant from the competition.

H. JUDGING MECHANISM AND CRITERIA

  • Originality and relevance to the theme (Weight: 20%)
  • Storytelling performance (Weight: 40%)
  • Compliance with the required format (Weight: 10%)
  • Creativity (Weight: 30%)
  • All judging decisions are final and cannot be contested.
